ABMC Announces Contract in the Dominican Republic
ABMC Distributor Signs Exclusive Contract with the National Network of Transportation

KINDERHOOK, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 15, 2008--American Bio Medica Corporation (NASDAQ:ABMC) announced today that Vanter SA, ABMC's distributor in the Dominican Republic (DR), signed an exclusive contract with the National Network of Transportation to provide drug testing services for all dock personnel and all drivers delivering and receiving at the country's three major ports, Puerto Caucedo de Boca Chica, Puerto Haina and Puerto de Puerto Plata. The first 15,000 tests will be shipped in May, and it is expected that a minimum of approximately 40,000 tests will be required each year under this contract.

According to the International Narcotics Control Strategy Report released by the U.S. Department of State in March 2008, the Dominican Republic (DR) is a major transit country for cocaine and heroin from South America destined for U.S. and European markets. During 2007, the DR experienced an increase in air smuggling of cocaine while maritime deliveries via go-fast boats and cargo containers continued. The government of the DR cooperated in extraditing fugitives and deporting criminals to the U.S. Seizures of heroin, cocaine and MDMA were consistent with 2006, while drug related arrests increased by over 60 percent in 2007.

Vanter has made substantial inroads in the DR in many new markets. In the past few months alone they have signed contracts with customers in the mining and hotel industries, and in other free trade zones. Vanter says its objective is to grow its drug testing business by 80% in 2008. Nicanor Pena, President of Vanter stated, "We have made significant progress over the past 12 months with ABMC products in the Dominican Republic. This contract is just one of the many contracts we already have with various agencies in the country including the Army, Navy and Police."
